Indeed, Lennon celebrated his somnolence in the Beatles' song I'm Only Sleeping, whose lyrics, drafted on the back of an envelope during waking hours, contained the evocative refrain, "Please don't wake me/No don't shake me/Leave me where I am/I'm only sleeping." ...
